New Event of Microsoft

Microsoft has just announced a new online event called “New Era of Work,” set for March 21 at 9 am PDT. For Indian viewers, it’ll be on March 21, Friday, at 10:30 pm. This event will bring exciting news about new features for Windows 11, developments in Microsoft Copilot, and updates on the Surface devices. Microsoft shared the details on a special webpage called “Advancing the new era of work with Copilot,” inviting everyone to tune in for the latest on AI scaling in your environment with Copilot, Windows, and Surface.

According to a recent report from Windows Central, Microsoft is getting ready to launch brand new Surface Pro and Surface Laptops during their upcoming event. These devices are expected to bring significant improvements in performance and efficiency, thanks to Intel Core Ultra and Snapdragon X Elite-based processors. Microsoft is calling them innovative AI PCs.

The plan is to release the Intel hardware in April, followed by the Arm hardware in June. The introduction of Arm technology to the Surface Pro 10 and Surface Laptop 6 is a big step, and more details about Arm devices might be revealed closer to June. There’s also a possibility of a specialized commercial version of the Surface Laptop with a built-in CAC reader being unveiled at the event.

Apart from the hardware, Microsoft’s event will cover new features for Windows and Copilot. Speculations suggest the incorporation of the next-gen neural processing unit (NPU) in the upcoming devices. One of the anticipated features is the “AI Explorer,” which acts as an advanced Copilot, turning PC activities into a searchable memory using natural language.

Additionally, the event might be the stage for the official announcement of the next major Windows 11 update, known as Windows 11 version 24H2. We’ll have to wait until March 21 to learn more, as Microsoft is currently keeping all the details a secret.

Latest News Updates from Microsoft

Microsoft faced some trouble recently when an employee raised concerns about the safety of its Bing AI chat, which is now called Copilot. Initially, Bing chat was one of the early AI chatbots with image generation capabilities, providing users with AI-generated content and images. Over time, it evolved into Copilot. However, a Microsoft engineer claimed that the company neglected safety measures, suggesting that Copilot could create violent and explicit content.
